Today, I took the CLEP Spanish exam. I scored a perfect 80!!! That means I will be getting 12 credits for the price of one... or rather, 1/5th the price of one. :) It was a very easy test -- for me at least. I can see how the accent in the listening portion could throw someone else off. I think the best part of all this was proving my dad wrong. He thought I couldn't pass the test -- he told me I didn't study enough Spanish in Guatemala before coming to the U.S. Well, I proved him wrong -- it looks like my Spanish level is not that low after all!
This only added to the wonderful day I was already having. Yesterday afternoon, my manager and my team lead gave me a card with a couple of gift cards. They wanted to say thank you for taking the extra work load during the transition of our old co-worker. They called me a "key member" of our department, which made me feel really good. I love working for this hospital, especially in this department. There is also a fair amount of boring work, but that's nothing compared to the great people I work with and how much fun I have with special projects. The best part is knowing that I am making a difference for our doctors, nurses and patients.
Now, back to homework....
